Happy Holidays to All
Fresh Purls wishes everyone a Happy Holiday Season and a Happy New Year.  We want to thank everyone for helping us create a warm and friendly knitting shop.

Holiday On Hope
Fresh Purls will be participating in the Holiday on Hope event, Friday, December 12th from 6pm – 9pm.  Come on over to Hope Street for some Holiday Cheer.  Many merchants will be open and serving refreshments along.

Relaxed Holiday Parking for Hope Street
December through January 3rd, 2009 there will be no time limit restrictions on parking.  There will be tickets given if parked illegally.

Holiday Hours
We will be closing at 2pm on Wednesday, December 24th and on Wednesday, December 31st and there will be no Knit Therapy on those evenings.

We will be closed for inventory on Sunday, January 4th through Tuesday, January 6th.  Reopening regular business hours on Wednesday, January 7th, with Knit Therapy resuming.     

Question of the Month
When making a hat on a 16” circular needle, how do I join my knitting into the round?

Once all your stitches are cast on make sure they are not twisted and spread the stitches evenly over the cord and needles.

1. Make sure your right hand needle holds the working yarn. Then slip the first stitch from the left hand needle onto the right hand needle.
2. Then slip the original stitch with your working yarn to the left hand needle that is the stitch you begin knitting with. You are now joined in the round! There really is no gray area with this policy. If you are on the fence about a book, why not check the book out from the library and see if you really want to purchase it.
