| Steeking - Learn this amazing technique!
Class Lesson Plan for 3 Hour Workshop Students work a mini kangaroo pouch neckline and steek it open. Students then pick up and knit the neck line and sew down the steeked stitches. Students also turn their swatches around and steek the entire length of the swatch as they would on a cardigan.
Steek Workshop Use steeks to eliminate seaming and to always knit on the Right Side of your work while knitting difficult stitch patterns and color-work. Fair Isle and Norwegian Sweaters are examples of garments that use this technique. We will explore the usefulness of steeks in sweater construction for sleeves, necklines, cardigans, hoods, button bands as well as other garments like shawls and shrugs. We will go through the process together, step by step, on a swatch so that you be comfortable performing it on your own. So bring your scissors and we will cut your knitting together!
